Pricing
No setup cost and no inventory to buy. Your club receives 20% of total order value, with a minimum monthly order value of $1,200 in season.
Most vendors in this category will not publish a number, which makes comparing them harder than it should be. Ours is here, along with what it is calculated on, because that second part is where the real differences hide.
What the club pays
| Setup fee | None |
|---|---|
| Minimum monthly order value | $1,200 in season, across all your stores |
| Inventory to purchase | None |
| Design and storefront build | Included |
| Text and email campaigns | Included |
| Sales tax | We collect and remit it |
| Returns and customer service | Handled by us |
| Monthly fee | $150, only for an active month under $1,200 |
The one case where a club owes us anything is a shortfall fee: an active month whose order value falls below $1,200 carries $150. Dormant months are not counted, and the threshold is measured across the club rather than per store, so splitting stores by program does not raise it. A club whose season is genuinely quiet should tell us and pause the store rather than pay it.
What the club receives
20% of total order value. Not 20% of margin, not 20% of profit after costs, and not a figure calculated after production and shipping have been deducted. On a $60 order the club receives $12.
What that works out to
| Orders in a season | Average order | Total order value | Club receives |
|---|---|---|---|
| 18 | $62 | $1,116 | $223 |
| 45 | $58 | $2,610 | $522 |
| 88 | $54 | $4,752 | $950 |
| 150 | $52 | $7,800 | $1,560 |
Where a club lands on that table is decided almost entirely by how many families hear about the store, which is the one variable a club controls directly and the one most often left to a single email.
Questions worth asking any vendor
- What is the percentage calculated on? Order value or margin. Get it in writing.
- Is there a minimum, and what happens if we miss it? Some arrangements reduce the share or invoice the difference.
- Who is the seller of record? This decides whose obligation sales tax is. If it is the club, that is a job for your treasurer.
- Who handles returns? If the answer is the club, the volunteer-hour saving is smaller than it looked.
- When is money remitted, and against what report? A schedule and a reconcilable statement, not a figure in an email.
- What happens to the store and the artwork if we leave? Worth knowing before rather than after.
These are the same questions we would want asked of us, and a vendor who will not answer them in writing is telling you something.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does it cost a club to start a spirit wear store?
- Nothing to start. There is no setup fee and no inventory to buy. The one ongoing obligation is a minimum monthly order value of $1,200 during your season; an active month below it carries a $150 fee.
- What percentage does the club receive?
- 20% of total order value, remitted on a set schedule. It is calculated on what the store sells rather than on margin after production and shipping, which is the distinction worth checking with any vendor.
- Is there a minimum monthly order value?
- There is no minimum on a single order — items are printed individually, so a store with four orders works like one with four hundred. What applies is a minimum monthly order value: $1,200 across all your stores during your season, with a $150 fee for an active month below it. Dormant months do not count.
- Who pays the sales tax?
- We do. We are the seller of record on the stores we run, so collecting and remitting sales tax is our obligation rather than the club's treasurer's.
